Gilles Gavillet is an internationally known graphic designer based in Geneva, Switzerland. He manages type foundry Optimo, in addition to the design studio Gavillet & Cie, and has served as the chair of jury of the “Most Beautiful Swiss Books” in recent years.
The latest books and printed matter selected by Gavillet that represent current Swiss graphic design are scheduled to be exhibited and sold. The objective is to focus on current tendencies of Swiss graphic design, which seeks new methodologies, while carrying on the outstanding design heritage from the past.

Gilles Gavillet (1973) is a designer and art director based in Geneva, Switzerland. He is the founder of the Optimo Type Foundry (1998) and of the design studio Gavillet & Cie (2001). His long-term collaborations include the art publisher JRP|Ringier, Art Basel’s annual publications, books for the Guggenheim Museum, and communication campaigns for the Musée Jenisch in Vevey and the MAMCO Geneva. Gilles teaches editorial design at ECAL (Lausanne) and is currently the Head of the Most Beautiful Swiss Books.

ジュネーブを拠点にグラフィックデザイナーとして 国際的に活躍するジル・ガビエ。デザインスタジオGavillet & Cie のほか、タイプファウンドリーOptimoを運営する。 そのガビエ⽒が中⼼となりセレクトされた、最近のスイスの グラフィックデザインを特徴づける書籍・冊⼦などのほか、 ローザンヌ州⽴美術⼤学（ECAL）の発⾏物も販売予定のポップアップストア形式の展覧会。⼤いなるデザインの遺産を受け継ぎつつ、 新たな⽅法論を模索する、現在進⾏形のスイスの グラフィクデザインの動向に着⽬したい。

Gilles Gavillet   （1973–）。ジュネーブを拠点とするデザイナー、 アートディレクター。1988年にタイプファウンドリーOptimo、 2001年にはデザインスタジオGavillet &Cieを設立する。長期に渡る 仕事として、 現代美術に関する書籍の出版社 JRP|Ringier、 ニューヨークのグッゲンハイム美術館の刊行物、 アートバーゼルの カタログのほか、 ヴヴェイのイェーニッシュ美術館 Musée Jenisch Veveyがある。 ジュネーヴの近現代美術館 MAMCOでは VIから書籍に至るまで、 コミュニケーショに関わる全てのデザインを 手掛けている。ローザンヌ州立美術学校 ECALでエディトリアル デザインを教えるほか、 「スイスで最も美しい本」コンペの 審査員長を務める。
